Barbara is the mother of two children one of whom had severe developmental disabilities. She personally advocated for her daughters' needs from early intervention through mandatory transitioning from the educational system.
Barbara personally and professionally understands the challenges and dilemmas that parents face in advocating for their child's unique exceptional needs. Working with numerous professionals within the educational system can be overwhelming. Ms. Easton can provide the support and advocacy necessary to assist parents in understanding their legal rights and the educational mandates.
Barbara Easton earned a J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law (1980) and a M.S., in Special Education from Portland State University (2009). She has been admitted to the Oregon State Bar (1987) and the California State Bar (1982). She is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Inc. (COPAA) and Kiwanis International.
She has served as a mediator for both the City of Beaverton Neighborhood Dispute Resolution Center and for the Small Claims Court of Washington County.
She was born in Glendale, California, January, 1954 and was raised in Southern California. She received her undergraduate degrees from CSULB, B.S. 1976 (Criminology); CSUN, B.A. 1977 (Sociology). She moved to Oregon in 1979 to attend law school and returned to California to practice law, until she again returned to Oregon in 1987, where she raised her children in the Beaverton area.
