It is my belief that Parents and Educators should form a collaborative relationship in developing an educational plan for their child. Parent(s) are typically the experts on their child’s needs. Parent(s) can and do play an essential role in assessing learning needs, planning effective programs and monitoring the ultimate success of these programs.My goal is to empower parent(s) to enter a joint partnership with educators and therapists to develop a mutual problem solving stance with respect to the needs of their child. Clearly, parental involvement and empowerment will lead to optimal educational support for a child with disabilities.
